Assistance and Support
As a charitable organization, APSW received assistance and support from many organizations in both the public and the private sectors. We are extremely grateful for the assistance . It is an inspiration to us all. The list is not meant to be exhaustive and only is provided as examples.
Organizations in the public sector
Ministry of Social Development and Human Security and Ministry of Public Health generally provide support for selected programs of APSW to provide assistance to women and children, accounting for about 5 percent of the revenue of the APSW.
Health Center 60, Communicable Disease Hospital, Nopparatrajathani Hospital, Bhumibol Hospital, Vajira Hospital and Sritanya / Somdej Chaphraya Mental Hospitals provide services to women and children seeking medical assistance.
Bangkok Metropolitan Administration provides full cooperation as required and assistance is in many areas such as landscaping, sewerage, road repair etc; similarly to the Air Force which provides assistance including utility maintenance and repair and others as requested.
There are also other government offices which provide some occasional support, usually when the officials come for a visit to the Emergency Home.
Private sector
Many private/business organizations provides cash support including Siam Cement, Somdej Phrasrinakarin Foundation, Srifuengfoong Foundation, Ladies Mission Group among others.
Watson provides continuous support including placing donation boxes in all their branches and has been celebrating New year party with members of the Emergency Home during the past two years.
Organizations in foreign countries also provide funds to support selected programs.
Norwegian Women and Family Association provided support for vocation training scholarships for women for almost twenty years, from the beginning to 2007.
World Childhood Foundation under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden has provide generous support to empower children during the past 6 years, starting in 2004, giving a new meaningful life for hundreds of children.
World Population Foundation has been working with APSW on sexual and reproductive health of school children during the past 6 years with success. The World Starts With Me, a computerized sex education program is now launching in 100 schools under the jurisdiction of Bangkok Metropolitatn Administration.
In-kind contribution has been offered by many many organizations including Nestle, Premier Marketing, Poh Teck Tung Foundation, Unilever Trading among others,
Many companies / corporates also carry out their CSR projects at the Emergency Home. For example, GE Money offers financial programs to be integrated in our vocational training courses; Chevron in March 2010 had about 200 of their staff starting the vegetable farming for the Emergency Home including help in renovating our Children’s Home.
Donation from the general public
Support has been received from the public – individuals and groups. A wide range of contribution including cash, non-cash items, used clothing, books,food items is received and is always welcomed.
Friends of Childhood Group has provided generous support to help with the administration of APSW from 2008-2010.
We highly appreciate all the support which definitely has given a new hope and a more meaningful life for women and children at the Emergency Home. It also is very inspiring for all our staff as we feel we are not alone in our work. Thousands of women and children have left the Emergency Home empowered and self sufficient, starting their new life. All this has been possible because of the support we have received. I |
